Fully
self contained, late 19th century cottage on historic Bakery Hill adjacent
to restaurants and tourist attractions |
|
Host Yvonne Horsfield rescued the
cottage from
probable demolition. Sensitively restored, it is fully self-contained and
well-equipped for a "home away from home" with a flavour of yesteryear.
Built on Bakery Hill,
this charming and romantic,
original
terrace style cottage, named "Albert & Victoria" after the royal
family, offers a
central location for visitors to Ballarat.
The cottage overlooks the original site of the city's 1850's
mining history.
From the front verandah, guests can see the place where the
Eureka rebels hoisted the famous Southern Cross flag. A replica of that flag still flies
today. |
