Ballarat's health services offer excellent private and public hospitals plus a range of medical specialists.

Ballarat Health Services provides many of the regions public medical facilities, services including emergency department and acute, extended, psychiatric and aged care.

St John of God Hospital is a private not-for-profit hospital offering a range of services including general medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetrics, intensive and coronary care.

The Central Highlands Regional Library Service has branches throughout the Ballarat, Pyrenees and Hepburn Shires.
