Booking a time at the Gardens To make the most of your trip to the Gardens book a date and time for your visit. This will allow staff and volunteers to make arrangements that will enhance the quality of your visit. It will also reduce the potential for two or more schools to be there at the same time.
Having chosen the day (or days) that suit your school, please fill out the fax sheet provided and send it to:

Time of the Year
Although the Gardens are a great venue at any time, rain can dampen the best-laid plans. Victoria's wettest month is October so you may choose to avoid this time. Autumn is a particularly good time for enjoying the foliage of the many deciduous trees and bedding displays, while spring is the best time for new growth, flowers and newly-born cygnets. Two visits to the Gardens, one in autumn and one in spring / summer would be the best way to see the seasonal changes.
Ballarat Begonia Festival
Ballarat's premier garden event is held annually in the Gardens for 11 days in early March annually. The Robert Clark Centre can provide details of Festival attractions and opportunities for schools' visits and participation.
