Education - Trail Notes

Using the Education Trail
The trail notes are designed to help group leaders guide students around the Gardens and encourage them both to explore the environment and participate in discussions. It is not essential that all questions are addressed, or that all activities are completed - they are only suggestions. What is important is that students contribute to the discussions and above all enjoy the Gardens.

Morey Gates
  • The trail should take at least one hour to complete.
  • The trail starts at the Morey Gates, which is the main entrance to the Gardens in Wendouree Parade (opposite Lake Pavilion Restaurant).
  • The Trail has a number of stations marked by signs and plaques. For each station there are leading questions for discussions and activities described elsewhere in these notes.
  • The sign just inside the Morey Gates shows the first marker, which looks like this:
