The Ballarat Bushwalking & Outdoor Club Inc. runs a number of outdoor
activities, usually on weekends or holidays. These include:
- day walks -
within 150 km radius of Ballarat
- base camps - day
walks from a fixed campsite
- overnight walks
carrying a backpack and
- camping out at
night
- cycle trips
- skiing trips
- canoeing
All activities rated
according to difficulty. Walks are graded:
- easy
-
formed tracks, level or undulating terrain or of a distance of 10 km
or less;
- medium -
unformed tracks, sloping or hilly terrain or of a distance greater
than 10 km;
- hard - off
track walking, steep or rugged terrain or of a distance greater
than 15 km. For experienced walkers.
Each activity has a
leader. To attend an activity, phone the leader at least 3 days before a
day trip and a week before an overnight trip (unless otherwise stated).
The leader will give you details of the activity, including what to
take, where to meet etc. The Club usually has a meeting point in
Ballarat, where a car pool is organised.

CLUB NIGHT
The Club
meets at 8.00 pm on the first Thursday of every month (except January)
at the City of Ballarat Community Centre, corner of Errard and
Sebastopol Streets. Entry is from Sebastopol St.
The Club
night is a social occasion, with tea, coffee and biscuits available. A
guest speaker or presentation (such as a slide night) is organised.
