Restaurant
Lillians Restaurant is a
renovated Grain Store built in the late 1800's and typical of
the many such businesses of Ballaarat's golden years. The years
when thousands of eager gold prospectors rapidly transformed the
quiet sheep run pastures into pock-marked landscapes surrounding
a new, bustling, cosmopolitan city lit by gaslight from 1858.
Lillians was transformed into a unique licensed restaurant and
is situated in historic Ballaarat East on the old Plank Rd, now
know as Main Rd near Poverty Point, the site where gold was
first found in Ballaarat.
