Lorraine Lucey is a unique and talented woman who with perseverance, determination and patience has turned what started out in 1972 as a hobby into an elite art of international standard whilst establishing and developing successful associated businesses.

This down-to-earth professional will meet any artistic challenge, even diversifying into heritage reproduction and restorative enamel work. Artistic expression and an eagerness to share her expertise with others are second nature to Lorraine who began cake decorating at the age of 12. Her culinary talents led to special occasion catering, decoration of special occasion cakes and teaching cookery to adults, primary and secondary students. Lorraine has also taught Year 7 art.

In 1976, less than a year after moving to the area, Lorraine began teaching porcelain painting in a small studio at Mt Lonarch. In 1980 three porcelain painting sessions per week were also offered through the School of Mines in Ballarat. Shortly thereafter Lorraine opened her own business in Sebastopol, the first of its kind in Western Victoria. For almost twenty years an extensive range of equipment and services for china painting and related arts, classes and seminars conducted by Lorraine and other prestigious Australian and Overseas painters were provided at her Sebastopol outlet. For many years Lorraine has been conducting numerous seminars throughout Victoria, Tasmania, W.A. and N.S.W.
